Job description

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Relief Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall control of each site he/she is covering.

Main duties include the use of computer-based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, engaging with customers face-to-face and on the phone, carrying out routine maintenance, supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation.

Other key responsibilities include ensuring that the concrete produced is compliant with our quality scheme and maintaining housekeeping standards at the site.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Coordinate with the Customer Service Centre to ensure production meets customer requirements and maintains quality standards according to procedures and technical instructions.
  2. Regularly inspect and perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety and operational standards.
  3. Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions in compliance with environmental procedures.
  4. Ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands, including inspecting incoming materials and maintaining stock levels.
  5. Enforce safety instructions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  6. Review work methods and plant utilization to optimize resources and efficiency.
  7. Operate batching plant to company standards and maintain site presentation.
  8. Accurately batch concrete/mortar following procedures.
  9. Perform routine maintenance and defect inspections, recording actions taken.
  10. Report any issues that could impact health & safety, the environment, product quality, or service.
  11. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe site environment.
  12. Ensure site security at all times.

Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience
