Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are currently recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area. This includes the top of M25, M4, M11 and bottom of the M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Our Operations and Maintenance Engineers are critical in delivering our contracts, whether that involves maintenance, installation, cabling or civils works. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

What you’ll do:

• Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
• Ensure all equipment commissioning is completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
• Address equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Undertake general maintenance and commissioning of equipment, testing all fibre and copper cables.
• Complete all required documentation promptly.

Who you are:

You should have previous experience in a similar role and be familiar with fault finding and testing within fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working on motorway communications or related equipment/systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
