Job summary

Orkney Islands Council seeks a Relief Mobile Community Responder (Green Team) to work across various locations in Orkney. This relief role offers a shift allowance for unsocial hours and requires PVG Level 2 Disclosure for adults.

The Green Team supports hospital discharge and homecare to help people remain independent in their own homes. Hours are offered on an as and when required basis, with duties including risk-aware community care and ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of health and safety including risk assessment.
• Requires Level 2 PVG disclosure for adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide Community Care Alarm Responder service to individuals in Orkney.
• Support individuals to stay at home safely and independently.
• Assist with discharge planning and prevent hospital admissions where possible.
