Macklin Care Homes in Belfast is seeking a Relief Housekeeping & Kitchen Assistant to support both the housekeeping and kitchen teams. You will help prepare meals, serve residents, and maintain clean, safe spaces in the home.

This role requires flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, good English, and a caring approach to elderly residents. A medically fit condition is expected, with commitment to high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or housekeeping is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and cleaning standards.
• Great communication with elderly residents.
• Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support both the housekeeping and kitchen teams as required.
• Assist with the preparation of meals as directed by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Prepare basic items such as salads, sandwiches, and soups.
• Serve meals to residents, following dietary requirements.
• Carry out daily housekeeping duties including cleaning resident rooms and communal areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control.
• Follow safety procedures and report faults or hazards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth operation.
