Job summary

Rowlands Pharmacy is seeking a Relief Pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy services across Dorset, Cornwall, Salisbury and Portsmouth. This role covers planned leave, absences and periods of high demand to maintain safe, patient-focused care across multiple locations.

The successful candidate will dispense medications, provide counselling, collaborate with doctors and nurses, and contribute to medicines management. A competitive salary is offered with a 45-hour week from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Proven hospital pharmacy experience
• Adaptable and willing to travel
• Strong commitment to patient safety and high quality care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and in line with regulations
• Provide expert advice, counselling and support to patients
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
• Conduct medication reviews and support safe medicines management
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage stock/inventory control
• Deliver immunisation services where applicable
• Provide guidance on over-the-counter medicines and health concerns
• Contribute to health promotion and public health initiatives
