Job summary

Anchor Group Services’ PIB Halifax site is seeking a Relief Cleaning Operative on a zero-hours basis. You will carry out a range of cleaning tasks safely and to a high standard, with good attention to detail and the ability to cover shifts as required.

Applicants must have a basic DBS check before starting and understand COSHH. The role involves using site equipment, working independently, and providing excellent customer service to on-site clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas to the site specification and instructions.
• Empty bins and manage waste in line with recycling guidelines.
• Address spillages promptly to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Follow Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
• Operate site equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Interact with on-site clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Carry out any other reasonable management requests.

Job Role: Relief Cleaning Operative
Working Hours: Zero hours
Pay: £13.43 per hour
Location: PIB Halifax - Gordon House, 17 Charles Street, Halifax, Yorkshire, HX1 1NA
Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced cleaner to join the site cleaning team at PIB Halifax as a Relief Cleaning Operative. The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally, to a high standard. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, have the ability to communicate on all levels and provide flexibility to cover additional shifts, as and when required. If you do not already hold a valid DBS certificate, you will require a DBS check before starting.

Duties Include

• Cleaning of designated areas, ensuring the agreed cleaning specification is completed, as per the site instructions
• Emptying of bins, ensuring recycled waste is disposed of correctly
• Attending to spillages by making sure they are cleaned up, within an efficient timeframe, to prevent accidents and ensure site and staff safety
• Following H&S and COSHH regulations
• Use of site-specific equipment, machinery and handling chemicals
• Proactive interaction with on-site clients and customers, offering superb customer service

• Carrying out any other reasonable management requests
