Job summary

Vertas is seeking a Relief Cleaner to join the Facilities Team at East Leake Academy. You will work relief hours, typically 14:00–18:00, Monday to Friday, 44 weeks per year. Your role is to maintain high cleanliness standards across sites, ensuring safe, welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors.

Pay rate is £12.71 per hour. Employment checks include DBS, Right to Work, and references where applicable, with safeguarding as a priority.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good communication skills and ability to work across sites.

Responsibilities

• Clean toilets and washrooms to a high standard.
• Wipe tables and surfaces as part of daily duties.
• Carry out general cleaning in classrooms and communal areas.
• Hoover and mop floors to maintain hygiene.
• Support and adapt to different sites as required.

About the Role:

Based at East Leake Academy, LE12 6QN, you will be working relief hours as required, Monday to Friday, typically between 14:00 and 18:00, 44 weeks per year. You'll play a key role in maintaining cleanliness to a high standard across our sites, helping to ensure safe, welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning toilets and washrooms
• Wiping down tables and surfaces
• General cleaning duties across classrooms and communal areas
• Hoovering and mopping floors
• Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained
• Supporting different sites as required

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
