Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Reliability Maintenance Technician (E&I) to maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment across our production sites, ensuring safe and reliable operations. You will perform planned maintenance, carry out first-line remedial tasks, supervise contractors, complete administration, and support capital projects; BA training will be provided.

The role requires UK work rights, flexibility, and a commitment to high standards.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to C&G or a relevant electrical/instrumentation qualification, preferably via an apprenticeship.
  • Experience in maintenance of water-specific production site assets.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking electrical and instrumentation planned maintenance and first-line remedial work.
  • Accurate and timely completion of maintenance administration and updates in systems.
  • Supervise Contractors and issue Permits to Work as required.
  • Routine administration (timesheets, H&S forms, vehicle records, etc).
  • Contribute to engineering capital works when required.
  • Assist Production team with Confined Space Entries; BA training provided.
  • Monitor and maintain site security and keep worksites tidy.
  • Drive Company vehicles and tow plant/equipment as needed.

Job description

Summary:

As a Reliability Maintenance Technician (E&I), you will provide the essential technical expertise needed to maintain and repair our electrical and instrumentation equipment.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our production sites, all while working in alignment with company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.

Your focus will be on upholding high operational standards and ensuring our critical equipment performs safely and efficiently to support our ongoing production success.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertaking the electrical and instrumentation planned maintenance activities as per the organisational maintenance strategy. This includes performing the planned maintenance task as well as first-line remedial work identified when performing the task.

  • Accurate and timely completion of all necessary administration associated with planned maintenance and remedial work including updates onto our business and work management systems.

  • Supervise work of Contractors and external service providers and issue Permits to Work where required.

  • Routine administration (e.g. timesheets, health and safety forms, vehicle record sheets etc)

  • Contribute and assist with engineering capital works as and when required.

  • Seeing the bigger picture Assisting other members of the Production team with Confined Space Entries. BA training will be provided.

  • Monitor and maintain security of production sites and ensure sites are in a clean and tidy condition upon completion of works.

  • Driving Company vehicles which may also include the towing of plant and equipment.

You'll need: Skills / Qualifications / Experience
  • The post holder is expected to be qualified to C&G or a relevant electrical/instrumentation technical qualification, preferably trained through a recognised apprenticeship scheme.

  • Fault finding and problem solving skills.

  • An appropriate level of experience in the maintenance of water specific production site assets.

  • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment maintenance practices.
