Job summary

AerFin in Crawley, United Kingdom is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical team. You will review SBs, ADs, and OEM docs to assess risk and support inventory decisions across aircraft and engine portfolios.

You will analyze reliability data, identify trends, guide repair and modification reviews, and work with Sales, Supply Chain and MRO to influence asset value and acquisition decisions. The role blends technical insight with commercial impact.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or aerospace experience.
  • Experience in a technical aerospace environment with reliability principles.
  • Knowledge of EASA, FAA and CAA regulations including Part M/Part 145.
  • Understanding of the aviation aftermarket relationships between OEMs, airlines, MROs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review SBs, ADs and OEM docs to assess risk and support inventory decisions.
  • Evaluate adoption of modifications and SBs within an aviation aftermarket context.
  • Provide technical support for components undergoing repair at vendors.
  • Analyze reliability and performance data to identify trends and root causes.
  • Support warranty investigations and discussions with repair vendors and OEMs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, MRO and Technical teams on modification standards.
  • Manage OEM technical subscriptions and access to OEM information.
  • Drive continuous improvement across asset onboarding and inventory management.

About the role:

We're looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical team and play a key role in how AerFin reviews technical publications, assesses reliability and makes asset-related decisions across our aircraft and engine portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong aviation technical experience who enjoys turning complex information into clear, practical recommendations that support both engineering and commercial decision-making. Working across Technical, Supply Chain, Sales and MRO, you'll review Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and reliability data to help shape inventory strategy, repair decisions, modification reviews and whole-asset management.

As this is a new role, you'll have the opportunity to influence how AerFin approaches reliability assessment, technical publication reviews and asset-related decision-making across the business.

What you'll be doing
  • Review Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and OEM technical documentation to assess risk and support decisions relating to component inventory.
  • Evaluate the adoption of modifications, ADs and SBs within a commercial aviation aftermarket environment.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for components undergoing repair and overhaul at our vendors
  • Analyse reliability, removal rate and performance data to identify trends, investigate root causes and develop solutions that improve reliability and reduce repair costs.
  • Support warranty investigations and discussions with repair vendors and OEMs.
  • Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, MRO and Technical teams to review modification standards and provide guidance on their impact to reliability, asset value and acquisition decisions.
  • Manage OEM technical subscriptions and company access to OEM information.
  • Drive continuous improvement across asset onboarding, inventory management and technical processes.
What we're looking for
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience working within a technical aerospace environment, with a strong understanding of engineering and reliability principles.
  • Knowledge of EASA, FAA and CAA regulations, including Part M, Part 145 and airworthiness requirements.
  • Good understanding of the aviation aftermarket and the relationship between OEMs, airlines, MROs and component suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make practical recommendations.
  • Confident communicating technical information and building effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
