Job summary

AerFin, a global aviation aftermarket specialist, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical team in a hybrid role based in Crawley or Newport. You will review Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and reliability data to influence inventory strategy and asset decisions across aircraft and engines.

Working with Sales, Supply Chain, MRO and Technical teams, you’ll drive continuous improvement, support warranty investigations and help shape modification standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical aerospace environment with reliability principles.
• Knowledge of EASA FAA CAA regulations and airworthiness requirements.
• Ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations.
• Strong communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Review SBs, ADs and OEM documentation to assess risk for component inventory.
• Evaluate adoption of modifications within a commercial aviation aftermarket.
• Provide technical support for components undergoing repair and overhaul.
• Analyse reliability, removal rate and performance data to identify trends.
• Support warranty investigations with repair vendors and OEMs.
• Collaborate across Sales, Supply Chain, MRO and Technical teams on impact of modifications.
• Manage OEM technical subscriptions and access to OEM information.
• Drive continuous improvement across asset onboarding and inventory management.

About The Role

We're looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical team and play a key role in how AerFin reviews technical publications, assesses reliability and makes asset-related decisions across our aircraft and engine portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong aviation technical experience who enjoys turning complex information into clear, practical recommendations that support both engineering and commercial decision-making. Working across Technical, Supply Chain, Sales and MRO, you'll review Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and reliability data to help shape inventory strategy, repair decisions, modification reviews and whole-asset management.

As this is a new role, you'll have the opportunity to influence how AerFin approaches reliability assessment, technical publication reviews and asset-related decision-making across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and OEM technical documentation to assess risk and support decisions relating to component inventory.
• Evaluate the adoption of modifications, ADs and SBs within a commercial aviation aftermarket environment.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for components undergoing repair and overhaul at our vendors
• Analyse reliability, removal rate and performance data to identify trends, investigate root causes and develop solutions that improve reliability and reduce repair costs.
• Support warranty investigations and discussions with repair vendors and OEMs.
• Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, MRO and Technical teams to review modification standards and provide guidance on their impact to reliability, asset value and acquisition decisions.
• Manage OEM technical subscriptions and company access to OEM information.
• Drive continuous improvement across asset onboarding, inventory management and technical processes.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent aerospace industry experience.
• Experience working within a technical aerospace environment, with a strong understanding of engineering and reliability principles.
• Knowledge of EASA, FAA and CAA regulations, including Part M, Part 145 and airworthiness requirements.
• Good understanding of the aviation aftermarket and the relationship between OEMs, airlines, MROs and component suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make practical recommendations.
• Confident communicating technical information and building effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Committed to developing your technical, industry and commercial knowledge.
