Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment in Poole, Dorset, seeks an experienced Software Release Manager to own and coordinate the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple applications and environments. You will ensure releases are planned, governed, and deployed safely with minimal business disruption.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Support to manage release readiness, risk, communication, and continuous improvement, while driving automation and reliability across

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Software Release Management across multiple applications and environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, change governance.
• Experience with production deployments, rollback plans, and release risk management.
• Excellent planning, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the software release calendar and deployment schedule.
• Coordinate releases across production, staging, UAT, and other environments.
• Manage release readiness reviews, approvals, quality gates, and Go-Live activities.
• Identify and manage release risks, dependencies, blockers, rollback plans, and recovery activities.
• Maintain release documentation, change approvals, deployment records, and audit trails.
• Coordinate technical teams during complex or high-risk deployments.
• Work with Engineering and DevOps teams to improve CI/CD, deployment automation, and release reliability.
• Communicate release schedules, risks, impacts, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.
• Monitor release performance and drive continuous improvement across release processes and tooling.
