We are seeking a motivated and experienced relationship fundraiser to join our team. This is a new role for the organisation, and we are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in relationship fundraising who can help develop our unrestricted fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running with fundraising activities and contribute to shaping the future of fundraising at St Nicks by supporting the development of a fundraising strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of fundraising for a highly regarded and well-established charity, enabling us to sustain and expand our vital work in the city.

Contract Type

This role is initially a 2-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Hours

21-28 hours per week, negotiable, based on a 35-hour full-time equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Strategy

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the fundraising strategy to maximise income and donor engagement.
• Research and identify new fundraising opportunities across York.
• Stay informed about the latest fundraising trends and best practices.
• Create a range of fundraising options, including membership, regular giving, and corporate partnerships.

Relationship Building and Retention

• Identify and engage potential supporters.
• Provide excellent donor care to meet and exceed supporter expectations.
• Ensure proper stewardship and communication with supporters and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the CEO on supporter engagement efforts.
• Build and support volunteer involvement in fundraising activities.

Marketing and Engagement

• Work with the team to communicate our work effectively to supporters and donors.
• Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop inspiring materials.
• Create compelling stories about St Nicks for various communications.
• Represent St Nicks publicly to diverse audiences.
• Lead our flagship fundraising events (3 per year) with support.

Management and Compliance

• Manage the fundraising income and expenditure budget efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations and best practices.
• Coordinate with the leadership team to align fundraising activities with organisational goals.
• Maintain donor data in accordance with GDPR.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Develop monitoring and evaluation tools with the CEO.
• Produce monthly KPI reports and bi-monthly trustee reports.
• Participate in organisational activities and meetings as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Stay involved with organisational developments and ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as required to support the role.
