Job summary

Southend City Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Qualified Social Worker to join one of the six Families First Service Teams. You will work directly with children and families, building restorative relationships and assessing needs with the child at the centre.

You will be required to provide efficient, evidence-based social work, with supervision and development opportunities. Hybrid working is available, with on-site presence at Civic Centre two days a week.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• ASYE completion.
• Experience in Children's Frontline services.
• Knowledge of child protection and looked-after children.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children, young people and families to create positive change.
• Build strong, trusting relationships using restorative and relational approaches.
• Assess need and risk with the child’s lived experience at the centre.
• Shape high-quality plans to promote safety, stability and long-term wellbeing.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver coordinated support.
