Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Pro Rata Technician to join the Client Support Services team in a hybrid role based in Witham. The role focuses on transactional processing to secure reinsurance recoveries through accurate system entry.

The ideal candidate will have some reinsurance knowledge across Pro Rata, Treaty, XOL or related areas. The position offers exposure to London Market systems (LORS, IMR, CLASS) and opportunities for study towards CII qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in reinsurance premium/claims handling is required.
• Competent Excel and Microsoft Office skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn about technical account structure.
• Proven ability to manage workload and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned client portfolio with full technical duties.
• Assist with funds collection with Market Fiduciary.
• Handle all Pro Rata post, brokerage receivables, funding and renewals.
• Promote and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets.
• Participate in training and contribute to process improvements.

Our Client Support Services department have an opportunity for a Pro Rata Technician. This is available on a hybrid basis, offering home working for 2 days a week, with the other 3 days based in our office in Witham.

As a Pro Rata Technician, you will support our client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries through timely and accurate system entry.

The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of reinsurance whether that be within Pro Rata, Treaty, XOL or Reinsurance Premiums/Claims.

• From May until the 29th of August, Guy Carpenter offers flexible 'Finish Early Friday' working hours, allowing employees to finish at 1PM on Fridays (providing your schedule and workload allow)

We will rely on you to:

• Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to client accounts.

• Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds.

• Manage all Pro Rata post, brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, ad hoc reporting requests, and all transactional process steps. This is inclusive of renewals

• Promote, build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets

• Participate in training sessions and provide input within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to assist with troubleshooting.

What you need to have:

• Reinsurance Premium/Claims experience, ie; handling cash loss/large loss

• Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of technical account structure.

• Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations.

What makes you stand out:

• Experience of working in a technical capacity for a Broker

• Experience of using London Market systems such as LORS and the IMR (Insurance Market Repository)

• Knowledge of CLASS system is useful for review of London market queries

• Knowledge of Letters of Credit and the Citibank process
