Job summary

A leading insurance group in London seeks an experienced professional to support long-term planning and strategy development within the Outwards Reinsurance division. The ideal candidate will bring strong reinsurance purchasing experience, alongside excellent technical understanding and established relationships with reinsurers and brokers. Responsibilities include consulting on strategic direction and facilitating continuous improvement within purchasing processes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the organization within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Reinsurance purchasing experience critical for role.
  • Strong technical understanding of reinsurance is required.
  • Ability to build relationships with reinsurers and brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of ORI with long-term planning.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement in purchasing practices.
  • Consult on strategic direction for reinsurance.

Skills

Job summary
  • To support the Head of ORI with long term planning and developing the ORI strategy
  • To provide support and guidance to the LoB ORI teams
  • Facilitate continuous improvement across the ORI team for purchasing practices and processes
  • Responsibility for the placement of certain outwards reinsurance programmes, as agreed with the Head of ORI
Main duties
  • Consult to Head of Outwards Reinsurance on long term plan and supporting strategic direction
  • Reviewing ORI programme efficacy and looking at alternate options
  • Exploring alternate products / solutions
  • Support theLoB teams on structuring and coverage of programmes (broadening their knowledge and supporting development)
  • Develop and share best practice across the LoB ORI teams
  • Review / enhance purchasing processes and practices
  • Assist the Head of Outwards Reinsurance / LoB Heads with the RFP process
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Experience

  • Reinsurance purchasing experience (preferably including Casualty)
  • Good Reinsurer and broker relationships
  • Good technical understanding of Reinsurance
  • Good understanding of best practice

  • Strong commercial and technical skills
