Job summary

Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking a Reinforcement Fixer to join our on-site team in the United Kingdom. You will interpret reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules to ensure layouts on site meet the designs.

You will check deliveries, plan sequence, position and tie bars, and install coupler systems, ensuring compliance with drawings, tolerances, and safety standards. You will work closely with the Works Manager and other trades, assist with site tasks, and uphold Build Sure and SRM values

Qualifications

• Interpret reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules.
• Check reinforcement deliveries against designs and identify defects.
• Plan efficient and safe sequence of fixing reinforcement bars.
• Position and tie reinforcement bars to design, tolerances and safety standards.
• Install mechanical reinforcement coupler systems as required by manufacturers.
• Assist with other site work as directed by the Works Manager.
• Follow health and safety and wellbeing policies.
• Promote Build Sure and SRM values on site.

Responsibilities

• Interpret reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules to ensure layouts meet designs.
• Check deliveries of reinforcement for alignment with design details and flag defects.
• Plan efficient and safe sequence for fixing reinforcement bars.
• Position and tie bars to ensure stability during pours and compliance with specs.
• Install coupler systems per manufacturer requirements.
• Assist with other site tasks as directed by Works Manager.
• Adhere to health and safety policies on site.
• Promote SRM values and Build Sure culture throughout the project.
• Cut and bend reinforcement to size using tools and machinery.
