Job summary

AWD online is seeking a reliable Steel Fixer for a Midlands-based construction project. The role involves positioning and securing steel bars or mesh to reinforce concrete structures, reading plans, and ensuring high workmanship standards on site.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ in Steel Fixing (preferred), a valid CSCS card, and strong experience in shuttering and concreting. You will join a site team delivering essential reinforced concrete work.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Steel Fixing preferred.
• Blue CSCS Card required.
• Ability to understand technical drawings.
• Extensive construction experience in a similar role.
• Experience tying reinforced steel.
• Capable of shuttering and concreting.

Responsibilities

• Set out the work area using site plans.
• Cut and bend bars or mesh as required.
• Tie rebar together using wire, clips or welds.
• Fit spacers and supports to reinforce structures.
• Fix wooden formwork and shuttering for concrete.
• Attach steel to concrete bases and fittings.
• Install beams and pre‑cast slabs where required.
