Job summary

ICDS is seeking an experienced Steel Fixer to join our onsite construction team in London. The role involves reinforcing concrete structures by cutting, bending and tying steel bars, and installing rebar cages according to drawings and specs.

You must have previous steel fixing experience, a CSCS card (Blue preferred), and the ability to read blueprints. This is a long-term, full-time position with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Must have previous steel fixing experience in construction.
• CSCS Blue Card preferred.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of steel fixing techniques and methodologies.
• Proficient with hand and power tools used in steel fixing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow construction drawings, plans and specs.
• Cut, bend, shape and tie steel bars, mesh and cables for reinforced concrete.
• Install steel rebar cages, beams, columns and other components per project specs.
• Use hand and power tools to position and secure reinforcements.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to meet project requirements.
• Follow health and safety regulations on-site to promote a safe working environment.
