Rehabilitation Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Rehab support worker to join our therapy team working in the bed-based rehabilitation unit at Sidmouth Community Hospital.

You will work as part of a supportive, integrated multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers and Nursing staff. Your role will be to carry out rehabilitation groups and individual programmes of intervention devised for patients by the qualified therapy staff with the aim of increasing patient independence reducing deconditioning and facilitating discharge from hospital.

Sidmouth Community Hospital in the coastal town of Sidmouth in East Devon is only 30mins drive from Exeter and the market town of Axminster providing excellent rail links to London and Exeter. The town is set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site an ideal landscape for coastal walks, fishing harbours and beautiful beaches. This is a permanent post at 37.5 hours per week and includes weekend working. Approximately 1 in 4

The ideal candidate will have an interest in community rehabilitation, multi-disciplinary working, falls prevention and management of patients with a wide variety of short and long-term conditions and carry out treatment plans within your competencies or as delegated by registered staff.

Clinical supervision will be provided by a qualified Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist/ or Nurse and we actively encourage peer support and offer learning and development opportunities.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0800-1600 and includes weekend working on a rota basis

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
