Job summary

NELFT is seeking a Falls Service Lead to manage referrals and deliver strength and balance exercise programmes. The role includes conducting home assessments and leading exercise sessions within established service guidelines.

New starters attend a comprehensive induction at the Trust, with sponsorship considerations and a focus on engagement and wellbeing. A High Cost Area Supplement applies as described.

Responsibilities

• Triaging referrals into the Falls Strength and Balance Exercise Service to ensure patients meet eligibility criteria.
• Conducting initial face-to-face home assessments to determine suitability for Otago-based home exercise programme or Postural Stability Group Exercise Programme.
• Leading and delivering structured strength and balance home-based or group exercise sessions in accordance with service guidelines.
• Supporting development, evaluation and improvement of the Falls Strength and Balance Exercise Service commitments.

This post will be subject to a probationary period.

Starting with Us

NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes hospital, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

• Conducting initial face-to-face home assessments to determine suitability for either an Otago-based home exercise programme or a Postural Stability Group Exercise Programme.
• Leading and delivering structured strength and balance home-based or group exercise sessions in accordance with service guidelines.
• Supporting the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the Falls Strength and Balance Exercise Service commitments.
