Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc seeks a Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist to drive regulatory data management, product stewardship and system integration. You’ll analyze data flows, resolve data integrity issues and ensure accurate, compliant data across master data and IT interfaces.

The role requires a scientific background, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a hybrid UK setting. We offer hybrid working and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Scientific degree or equivalent in chemistry, environmental sciences or related field.
• Strong analytical and data management skills with experience handling regulatory data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain regulatory requirements clearly.
• Experience collaborating with master data owners and IT teams.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet service delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Product Stewardship systems, including WERCS Studio.
• Investigate and resolve data integrity and data flow issues across source systems.
• Validate regulatory and safety data and classifications.
• Collaborate with data stewards to ensure accurate, complete data across systems.
• Support system integration and vendor engagements (e.g., UL/WERCs vendor) to optimise performance.
• Understand regulatory needs and translate into data requirements.

Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist

Location: UK Flexible

The role: As a Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:

• Operating and continuously improving Product Stewardship systems, including WERCS Studio, ensuring reliable and effective use for regulatory data management
• Investigating and resolving data integrity and data flow issues, working across source systems, integrations, and WERCS outputs
• Applying chemical understanding to validate and interpret regulatory, hazard, and product data (e.g. safety data sheet inputs, classifications)
• Collaborating with master data owners to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent data across systems
• Acting as the primary interface with JMIT and IT teams to support system integration, issue resolution, and improvements
• Engaging with the WERCS vendor (UL) or other to support issue investigation, system optimisation, and adoption of best practices
• Building and maintaining an understanding of the regulatory needs of the business and its markets and how this is broken down into regulatory data requirements

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly
• Strong IT and data management skills (e.g. database handling, system configuration, or data analysis)
• Scientific degree or equivalent (e.g. chemistry, biochemical sciences, environmental sciences etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and explain regulatory requirements clearly
• Able to prioritise workload and meet service delivery expectations
