Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Services Field Officer (Tobacco Control) to join the team based in Barnsley.

You will join them on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years from appointment. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £27,711 - £37,035 per annum (career graded).

The Regulatory Services Field Officer (Tobacco Control) role:

Our client is recruiting for the Regulatory Service Field Officer position in their busy Trading Standards Team, located in Barnsley.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in protecting the public by providing advice to businesses and taking enforcement action concerning illegal tobacco, illegal vaping products, and underage sales.

Your work will support local businesses in understanding and complying with new tobacco and vaping legislation. This legislation aims to enhance child safety by imposing restrictions on youth access to tobacco and regulating the sale of vaping products, especially those marketed as smoking cessation aids.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Level 3 qualification is required.
  • Previous experience working with the public and businesses is essential.
  • Additional qualifications and a portfolio submission can qualify for a higher salary scale.
