Nomura in London is seeking a Vice President for Regulatory Reporting to lead cross‑jurisdictional compliance across EMEA. You will partner with Compliance, Technology and BAU teams to interpret regulations, assess impacts and implement remediation programs within complex booking models.

Department overview:

The Senior Regulatory Reporting VP will play a critical role in supporting Nomura’s broader Regulatory Reporting team across EMEA jurisdictions. This position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in financial services regulatory frameworks who can navigate complex regulatory changes, perform comprehensive impact assessments, and ensure seamless compliance across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Analysis
  • Engage with Compliance teams on regulatory interpretation for all EMEA jurisdiction regulatory changes and cross-regional impacts affecting EMEA entities
  • Conduct comprehensive gap analysis comparing current reporting practices against post-regulatory change requirements, considering all of Nomura’s booking models
  • Perform root cause analyses and impact assessments for regulatory breaches, including cross-jurisdictional analysis
  • Drive remediation plans by partnering with technology teams to design and implement effective solutions for remediation.
  • Ensure procedures, RCSA documentation, and traceability documents are updated following regulatory changes
Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Coordinate with offshore teams to develop and execute test scenarios/cases for UAT on regulatory changes and remediations
  • Provide oversight of UAT processes and deliver relevant regional sign-offs
  • Conduct post-release checks to ensure implementation effectiveness
Project Management & Governance
  • Lead project governance activities for regulatory reporting initiatives
  • Manage new business initiatives reporting requirements
  • Demonstrate successful involvement in key regulatory programmes
Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain ongoing dialogue with key business and corporate stakeholders to understand and align on strategic objectives
  • Support BAU teams during audit and regulator engagements
  • Lead regular meetings / provide updates to key stakeholders to keep them updated and ensure expectations are met / managed to ensure Nomura is compliant for reporting
Essential Requirements
Technical Expertise
Regulatory Knowledge

Excellent understanding of key EMEA jurisdictions including:

    • MiFID (RTS 22 and RTS 1&2)
    • EMIR
    • SFTR
    • Central Bank Reporting (Bank of England and Bank of Israel)
  • Strong ability to interpret regulatory text and translate into actionable business requirements
  • Experience with best practice controls and processes in financial markets
Professional Experience
  • Proven experience with regulatory change management frameworks particularly in EMIR and SFTR.
  • Demonstrated successful programme delivery

  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills with ability to collaborate across global locations
  • Ability to articulate key messages across all mediums and elevate risks appropriately
