Job summary

SmartestEnergy Limited is seeking a Regulatory Compliance professional who will provide regulatory insight, analysis and advice across our business and IT & Change projects. You will be the central point of contact for regulatory impacts across the UK electricity and gas industry.

You will assess regulatory risks, support mandatory industry changes, contribute to compliance monitoring and provide practical guidance on day-to-day regulatory queries.

Qualifications

• Experience in the energy/utility regulatory sector.
• Experience working on large-scale market wide industry change programs (e.g., MHHS, Faster Switching, TCR, P272).
• Experience in regulatory/compliance implementation or business analysis.
• Holistic vision and end-to-end process awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory insight, analysis and advice across business and IT & Change projects.
• Serve as central point of contact for regulatory impacts across UK electricity and gas industry.
• Assess regulatory risks and impacts and support implementation of mandatory changes.
• Contribute to compliance monitoring and provide practical regulatory guidance to day-to-day queries.
• Engage with industry bodies, regulators and external stakeholders to stay compliant.

Job description

You\'ll play a key role within our Compliance & Regulation team, providing regulatory insight, analysis and advice across current and upcoming business and IT & Change projects. You\'ll be the central point of contact for regulatory impacts across the UK electricity and gas industry, helping teams understand and respond to changes in industry codes, legislation, licences and regulatory requirements. Working closely with colleagues across IT & Change, Finance, Operations, Pricing and other areas of the business, you\'ll ensure regulatory considerations are identified early, clearly communicated and effectively managed.

This is a varied role where you\'ll combine technical regulatory knowledge with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills. You\'ll assess regulatory risks and impacts, support the implementation of mandatory industry changes, contribute to compliance monitoring and provide practical advice on day-to-day regulatory queries. You\'ll also have opportunities to engage with industry bodies, regulators and external stakeholders, helping us stay compliant and prepared for an evolving regulatory landscape.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
