Become part of a talented team doing impactful work.

The energy sector is changing quickly, and we need leaders who can deliver ingenious solutions that will help clients cope with these changes and create/implement investment plans that balance the goals of customers, regulators and shareholders from both a business/regulatory and technical point of view.

Our Energy & Utilities practice is looking for skilled experts to lead teams delivering for our current client base and to develop new opportunities as part of our ambitious growth strategy.

We are looking for experienced consultants with a proven track record delivering in regulated utilities who can lead multi‑skilled teams and who have real‑world experience of energy networks. A strong understanding of energy price controls, the RIIO framework and how physical asset management supports customer, regulator and sector objectives is preferred.

We are hiring and developing leaders to deliver and grow sustainable business. We need people who can work independently, lead teams and are driven self‑starters who will impress our clients at this exciting time in the energy transition.

What we’re looking for
  • Energy infrastructure planning (transmission and/or distribution) in a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • The operation of energy networks in delivering consumer, regulator and shareholder priorities.
  • The production of asset strategies, policies, plans and standards and an understanding of how these influence business outcomes.

At PA we believe that a brilliant asset manager is someone who is curious, enjoys exploring new ideas and seeks to evolve asset management thinking and problem definition. We are looking to recruit and support curious asset management experts who can analyse complex problems and lead teams to deliver class‑leading solutions. Business development is a key enabler for our projects pipeline, so previous experience of winning new work and developing opportunities is highly beneficial.

  • Self‑motivation and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Leadership skills to build project teams and deliver multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Creative and open‑minded, enjoying learning and trying new ways of doing things.
  • Strong communication, presentation creation, delivery and document writing skills.
Qualifications
  • Track record of selling and delivering professional consulting services, including building and expanding client relationships across senior stakeholder groups.
  • Technical understanding of one or more of the following areas: electricity or gas network asset planning or operation (transmission and/or distribution), the evolving energy landscape including NESO, DSO, Net Zero drivers and regulatory incentives, innovation in technology and/or process, asset strategy, programme delivery, asset health, utilisation, risk and resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate client challenges into structured requirements from identification of need through to execution, adoption and benefits realisation.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced and complex environments with a strong focus on delivery assurance, governance and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to steer senior‑level client conversations and drive consensus.
  • Passionate about the opportunities and challenges in the energy sector, delivery‑oriented and at best collaborating in a high‑focus team setting.
  • A drive to stay abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging market trends and technical solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrating the capacity to lead substantial multidisciplinary or economic projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relationship building and influencing skills.
Benefits
  • Health and lifestyle perks including private healthcare for you and your family.
  • 25 days annual leave (plus a bonus half day on Christmas Eve); opportunity to buy 5 additional days.
  • Generous company pension scheme.
  • Opportunity to get involved with community and charity‑based initiatives.
