Job summary

Lawyers On Demand is seeking an experienced Regulatory Lawyer to support a major regulatory implementation programme and business readiness initiative. The role is hands-on, focusing on preparing for a new regulatory framework and embedding governance structures across the organisation.

The successful candidate will review policies, advise on delegations and regulatory obligations, translate complex rules into practical processes, deliver training, and liaise with regulators and business teams

Qualifications

• Experienced lawyer specialising in regulatory compliance and implementation.
• Experience in regulated industries is preferred.
• Ability to develop governance frameworks and operational processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

A leading organisation in a highly regulated sector is seeking an experienced Regulatory Lawyer to support a major regulatory implementation programme and business readiness initiative.

This hands-on role will focus on helping the business prepare for a new regulatory framework, embedding governance structures, and ensuring ongoing compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation of a new regulatory and licensing framework
• Reviewing and updating governance documents, policies, and procedures
• Advising on decision‑making frameworks, delegations of authority, and regulatory obligations
• Translating complex regulatory requirements into practical business processes
• Delivering training and guidance to business stakeholders
• Acting as a key liaison between legal, business teams, and regulators
• Supporting ongoing compliance and regulatory readiness activities

About You

• Experienced lawyer with a strong background in regulatory compliance and implementation
• Experience working within regulated industries
• Proven ability to develop governance frameworks and operational processes
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Comfortable driving projects forward in a hands‑on environment
• Experience dealing with regulators is highly desirable
• Energy, utilities, licensing, or Ofgem experience is beneficial but not essential
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 3 months
