Job description

The Purpose of the Role:

As a Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will be a vital member of our regulatory affairs team, responsible for setting the strategic direction and working with internal regulatory teams and third-party advisors to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines governing our products and operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs, you will develop and execute regulatory strategies, lead regulatory submissions, and manage a team of Regulatory Affairs Associates. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the successful market authorization and ongoing compliance of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Strategy and Compliance: Develop and implement regulatory strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to facilitate product approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory guidelines and communicate the impact on the organisation's products and activities. Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards for each market. Act as the main point of contact for regulatory escalations and provide expert advice on regulatory risks.
  • Regulatory Submissions: Oversee the preparation, review, and timely submission of regulatory applications, registrations, and reports to relevant authorities. Ensure accuracy and completeness of submissions to expedite approval processes.
  • Team Management: Line manage and provide leadership, guidance, and support to Senior Regulatory Affairs Associates. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. Conduct performance reviews and support professional development. Stay updated on regulatory trends and share insights with stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Authority Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, managing communications, queries, and inspections.
  • Internal Collaboration: Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and manage suppliers to ensure regulatory compliance during product development, trials, and post-market activities.

Location:

We operate a hybrid model with bases in London, Nuneaton, and Burton. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 days per week in either London or Nuneaton and travel to other locations as needed.

The Person:

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, pharmacy, or related field; an MSc or PhD is preferred.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs management within the food and/or retail sectors.
  • Proven success in regulatory strategy development and product approvals.
  • Experience with regulatory submissions and authority interactions.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EU food regulations.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • Attention to detail and multi-project management skills.
  • Regulatory affairs certifications (e.g., RAC) are advantageous.
