The post will be based at the Princess Royal University Hospital or Orpington Hospital, depending on service needs. Your preferred site can be discussed at interview.
NHS experience is beneficial.
The post-holder will attend morning board rounds, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings. Responsibilities include organizing and supporting junior staff, ensuring discharge summaries are completed, and coordinating discharge planning. The role may involve managing medical outliers and shared care of critical care patients. Support will be provided to seriously ill patients and emergencies on the ward.
Each day begins with patient reviews, prioritizing sick patients and early discharges, followed by morning board rounds with nursing and allied health teams.
The Trust operates an integrated approach to medicine across both sites (Denmark Hill and PRUH). Activity is organized on a ward-based structure, with each sub-specialty having its own ward base. Managing inpatient stays and reducing attendances are key performance areas, with collaborative intermediate care schemes and complex discharge management teams. The Trust values the link between clinical services and research, working closely with Kings College London / KHP.

Responsibilities include providing high-quality clinical care, effective leadership, supporting teaching and research, adhering to policies, and practicing within service plans.
