Job description

Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at our dual-sited practice, located on the outskirts of Middlesbrough.

Your New Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play an essential role in supporting our veterinary team in a range of clinical tasks, including assisting with various surgical procedures, promoting dental care, and providing consultations for health checks and general care. You will be responsible for running nurse clinics, offering services such as weight management, laser therapy, and more. The role offers a variety of surgical procedures, so you will have the chance to develop your skills in different aspects of veterinary care.

At our practice, you will work alongside a close-knit and experienced team, including 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA, 3 Client Care Coordinators, 1 Practice Coordinator, and 1 Practice Manager. Our clinic is led by a dynamic and progressive Clinical Director, Louisa (Imaging Cert), who encourages an environment of continuous learning and clinical excellence. We support and promote ongoing professional development and provide opportunities for certification courses to help you grow in your career.

The clinic is fully equipped with modern facilities, including digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, and access to an endoscope. We are a Cat-Friendly Clinic (Silver Award) and focus on providing the highest level of care in a stress-free environment. Additionally, we’re located next to a shopping centre and retail park, with easy access to public transport links and a range of vibrant cities such as Newcastle, York, and Leeds. The surrounding areas offer beautiful scenery, including Saltburn, Redcar, Whitby, and the North York Moors, perfect for those who appreciate the balance of city life and the tranquility of the coast and countryside.

Working Hours

The position is part-time, working 22.5 or 28 hours per week between Monday to Friday. You will also be expected to work 1 in 5 Saturday mornings with TOIL, but we offer no Sunday or out-of-hours shifts, with out-of-hours care handled by Vets Now Middlesbrough. The clinic is closed on bank holidays, except for Good Friday.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who is committed to delivering high clinical standards and providing excellent patient care. A keen interest in continuous professional development is essential, as we offer support for further learning and certification. You should be able to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, providing both technical expertise and excellent client care.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -
