Job description

We're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our outstanding team at New Malden Vets. If you're passionate about animal care and ready to take the next step in your career, we can't wait to welcome you aboard!

About the role

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced veterinary nurse to join our dynamic team. This role offers a diverse schedule, averaging 40 hours per week with rotating shifts, including 8am-3pm, 8am-6pm, 12pm-8pm, and 11am-6pm. Additionally, you'll be part of a 1-in-5 weekend rota (Saturdays 8am-2pm), with a well-deserved day off following your weekend shift.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take on a diverse range of responsibilities, including consultations, pharmacy duties, inpatient care, anaesthetic monitoring, Stage 1 dentals, and imaging. With the support of our exceptional reception team, you'll spend minimal time on administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on what you do best - delivering outstanding care to our patients.

About us

We are a vibrant, community-focused practice with excellent transport links to Wimbledon, Kingston upon Thames, Central London, and even the coast - making us perfectly placed for both city life and weekend escapes. Our modern, well-equipped clinic features advanced diagnostic technology, including multiparameter monitors, digital X-ray, and dental X-ray, enabling us to provide the highest standard of care.

As proud holders of the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic Gold Award, we’re committed to delivering exceptional, feline-friendly care and fostering a cat-centric culture throughout our team. We strongly believe in continuous professional development and actively encourage our staff to share their expertise through regular team meetings and clinical clubs. At the heart of everything we do is our mission to provide gold-standard care to every client and every pet who walks through our doors.

About the team and culture

Our team is made up of 2 Clinical Directors, 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, and 7 fantastic Receptionists. We take pride in fostering a warm, inclusive, and genuinely supportive workplace where everyone feels like part of the family. Our annual open day is a highlight of the year, bringing together staff and the local community in celebration. We also enjoy regular social events, including a summer BBQ, a festive Christmas party, and a variety of team outings. With a dedicated social secretary at the helm, there’s always something fun on the calendar - whether it's an escape room challenge, a game night, or something new we haven’t tried yet. We’re always open to fresh ideas that bring us closer as a team!

Applicant requirements

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who can confidently perform all clinical duties to a high standard. A team player with strong leadership skills and a passion for patient and client care would be a great fit. We are open to applications from both RVNs and experienced second-year trainee nurses looking to join our friendly small animal nursing team.

Join us in a fantastic location

Located on the southwest London/Surrey border, our practice offers the best of both worlds. We’re just 25 minutes by train from Central London, with easy road access via the A3 if you’re heading out of the city. Whether you’re drawn to city life or countryside escapes, this is the perfect location to enjoy both.
