The Package

Job Description

Introduction

Our client is a corporately owned practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and supportive team in Canvey Island, Essex. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position and offers a wonderful opportunity to work in a scenic coastal town with a welcoming local community and excellent transport links to London.

Working Hours / Rota

Fixed term contract (Maternity Cover)

Full-time hours available (part-time considered)

No out-of-hours required

Participation in a fair weekend rota

Role Description

You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, supporting the veterinary team with surgical and medical cases while maintaining a high standard of patient and client care. Your duties will include nurse consults, inpatient monitoring, patient admissions and discharges, and involvement in Schedule 3 procedures.

You’ll also be encouraged to take part in practice development activities and contribute to an inclusive and collaborative team culture that values your input and celebrates success.

Team Size

You will be working alongside a supportive team of veterinary surgeons, student nurses, veterinary care assistants, and reception staff, all dedicated to delivering exceptional client and patient care.

This well-established practice in Canvey Island offers a great mix of consults and surgical cases, supported by a loyal client base. The location provides a relaxed work-life balance with access to seafront walks, parks, and nearby urban centres including Basildon and Southend.
