Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position with an average of 6.75 hours per week across an 8-week rota. Shifts are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 16:00 to 23:30. There is also the option to cover sickness and holiday on other days of the week.
Role Description
The successful candidate will manage telephone calls, arrange appointments, and triage patients upon arrival at the hospital. You will also assist the night team with additional support tasks as needed, helping to deliver a seamless and high standard of emergency veterinary care.
Team Size
You will work alongside an RVN managing inpatients and OOH surgeries, a twilight ACA responsible for animal care and infection control, and an on-site veterinary surgeon. The wider team is described as supportive, sociable, and united by a great sense of humour.
Practice Details
Based in Bridgwater, Somerset, the practice is an RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital and an established provider of emergency out-of-hours services for the Somerset region. The hospital sees a variety of small animal cases, including exotics and wildlife, and actively encourages and funds CPD and certificate study for team members. The hospital is located near the coast and the scenic Quantock Hills.
