Job summary

IVC Evidensia in Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic, part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the Avon Lodge Veterinary Centre team. This role offers a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on delivering high standards of care for diverse cases.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Avon Lodge Veterinary Centre on a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.

Avon Lodge Veterinary Centre is a friendly and experienced small animal practice, with this role based at our newly refurbished Wells Road practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN with a passion for delivering high standards of clinical care to join our supportive team while covering maternity leave.

You’ll be joining an enthusiastic and experienced team, including our Head Vet, 4 Veterinary Surgeons, Head Nurse, 5 RVNs, 2 ANAs, Head Receptionist, 5 receptionists and Practice Director. We are proud to be a nurse training practice, regularly supporting Veterinary Nurse students and EMS students, and we have Silver Cat Friendly status.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 30 hours per week
  • Shift patterns between 8:00am and 7:00pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
  • 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave
General Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Run nurse clinics and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
