Registered Veterinary Nurse – Norwich, Norfolk

About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in Norwich, Norfolk.

Salary: From £14.14 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 39 hours per week
Working pattern: 4 x 9-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
Weekend rota: 1 in 8 weekends
Shift window: 8:00am–7:30pm

This is a varied nursing role offering an excellent opportunity for a confident RVN to fully utilise their clinical skills while working within a welcoming and inclusive team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high standards of patient care and client service, while also contributing to the smooth running and continued development of the practice.

About the Practice

The practice is a busy small animal service in Norwich, supported by a friendly and collaborative team that encourages colleagues to share ideas and contribute to the continued success of the practice.

The role offers plenty of variety and is well suited to an RVN who enjoys being busy and wants to make a genuine difference to patients, clients, and colleagues.

The weekend rota is currently based at a sister practice in Norwich Sprowston, providing a manageable 1-in-8 weekend commitment.

The team places strong emphasis on communication, clinical standards and exceptional customer service, creating an environment where colleagues are encouraged to have a voice and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across a varied small animal caseload.
• Undertake all aspects of general veterinary nursing confidently.
• Support Veterinary Surgeons and the wider clinical team.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and their owners.
• Maintain consistently high clinical and patient welfare standards.
• Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
• Support colleagues with appropriate non-clinical duties.
• Keep up to date with available practice services and additional client offerings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, particularly during challenging or emotional situations.
• Contribute ideas to help improve practice services and patient care.
• Work collaboratively to provide an excellent client and patient experience.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong general nursing skills and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

They should be supportive, organised and an excellent communicator, with a calm and attentive approach to both patients and clients.

The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a busy environment, brings enthusiasm and drive to their role and takes pride in maintaining high clinical standards.

Strong interpersonal skills are particularly important, as the role involves supporting clients through a wide range of experiences, from difficult news about their pets to celebrating exciting milestones such as a puppy's first visit.
