Job description

If you are a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a friendly and supportive working environment, then come and join us at Bishopbriggs Vets for Pets for Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire. Excellent salary paying up to £33,5000 FTE.

At Bishopbriggs Vets for Pets, we pride ourselves on creating a friendly, supportive environment where our nurses are empowered to make the most of their clinical skills while enjoying a great work‑life balance. Whether you’re seeking full‑time hours or a part‑time role that fits around your lifestyle, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

We are an RCVS PSS (and have been for the past 14 years), an RVN training practice, a Silver Cat Friendly practice and we are currently working towards the Silver Investors in Environment award. To support all of this we have excellent facilities and equipment within the practice which includes a full in‑house lab (Procyte, Catalyst One, InVue Dx, Sedivue Dx) and ultrasound, digital x‑ray, a dedicated dental x‑ray unit, tonometer, patient warmer, fluid pumps, syringe driver and many more.

Our nurses are veterinary professionals and as such we ensure that they are able to fulfil their clinical potential. Our head nurse is a clinical coach who is supporting our employed SVN through their studies. Continuing your learning is just as important to us, and we offer a great CPD allowance to our nurses. Our collective strength is in anaesthesia, and we are keen to maintain this.

You will join a very stable team which is currently made up of 3 FT vets, 3 FT RVNs, 1 SVN, a Practice Manager and 3 receptionists, which we find is the perfect balance for ensuring you always get breaks and time in the diary to catch up on admin. Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. Our caseload is varied and as such we also have a visiting Orthopaedic Specialist so there are ample learning opportunities.

We are offering a salary of up to £33,500 (DOE). We can consider both full or part time hours, which includes a 1 in 3 full day Saturday rota. No Sundays or OOHs!

Benefits
  • Pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • An extra day off for your birthday
  • Paid lunch hour, which we try our best to protect with good diary management
  • CPD allowance
  • Paid memberships (RVCS fees and BVNA)
  • Exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (including up to 20% off at Pets at Home)

In return we’re looking for an RVN who has excellent customer service and communication skills, and a good experience of veterinary nursing with a genuine interest in animal welfare, enjoying the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike.
