We are delighted to welcome applications for a highly organised and logistically-minded RVN to join our team as a Clinical Floor Coordinator at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in Ringwood, Hampshire. This is a permanent, part time position.

Our Clinical Floor Coordinator will be instrumental in the effective and efficient running of the clinical floor across all referral disciplines in the hospital, which will include Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue Surgery.
Reporting into the Clinical Nursing Manager, the Clinical Floor Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the clinical floor runs effectively and efficiently by taking a central role in planning the day’s referral procedures, and leading the teams to complete their individual work flows as scheduled. Due to the dynamic nature of referral and emergency work, the workflows of each department will be subject to change, and this will require decisive action and the reallocation of resources. You will not be required to undertake clinical work as standard, but you must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge.
Duties will include...
*Be responsible and accountable for the efficient throughput of cases across all departments of the practice. Working closely with the clinicians, nursing team and leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling of the day, to include timely management of emergencies and prevention of delays.
*Sole charge of inputting planned procedures onto the practice scheduling system, ensuring the schedule is updated to reflect real-time workflow.
*Prioritise workload to meet the needs of the patients and organise the workload of the clinical team in accordance with this.
*Ensure if the schedule has been changed that all relevant departments are notified.
*Liaise with the referrals administrative team to facilitate acceptance of emergency and urgent referrals to the hospital.
*Manage the clinical schedule to reflect staffing levels and facility availability.
*Monitor and audit efficiency across the hospital in processing cases, and implement changes to optimise efficiency.

The improvements do not stop here, with further additions to include a new diagnostic suite and ICU area, plus much more.
We have an outstanding team of recognised specialists across a multitude of disciplines. We also have a dedicated rehabilitation team who provide physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to aide post-operative recovery. The care and comfort of our patients is always at the front of our minds. Our advanced nursing team provide excellent care to all patients during their stay at SCVS. We also have a team of dedicated veterinary care assistants to ensure patients feel reassured and comforted during their stay.
Relevant experience and personal attributes
*You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse
*Previous experience in a Referral Hospital environment.
*Some leadership experience is preferred
*High level of clinical knowledge and practical competence.
*Commitment to professionalism, integrity and ethical standards.
*Commitment to the prioritisation of animal welfare.
*Positive outlook with confidence and belief in own abilities.
Hours designed with flexibility in mind
This part time position averages 29.25hrs per week. The shift pattern is Monday-Wednesday plus 1:4 Saturdays, on an 08:00-17:30 shift.
