Job summary

Gilmore Veterinary Surgery is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll join a friendly, collaborative team delivering high-quality nursing across consulting, theatre, inpatient care, and diagnostics.

The role offers a varied nursing portfolio, with ongoing development opportunities in the Nurse Academy and a supportive practice culture. A 4-day working week and Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota are included.

Qualifications

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
Experience working in clinical practice.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Ability to work across varied nursing duties within a team.

Responsibilities

Run nurse consultations and support client communication.
Support theatre work, including anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing.
Provide inpatient care and patient monitoring.
Assist with laboratory work and diagnostics, including ear cytology.
Support the use of equipment including multiparameter monitors, blood pressure machine and tonometer.
Contribute to the development of dental radiography within the nursing team once introduced.
