Abington Park Vets in Northampton is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our surgical referral team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role sits across our Moulton and Abington sites, delivering high-quality nurse care within first opinion and referral work.

You’ll work 40 hours across a 5‑day week, with shifts from 7:30am to 7:00pm, on a rota basis. This is a modern, well-equipped hospital offering opportunities to develop in a varied clinical environment.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration required.
• Experience in clinical nursing in a veterinary setting.
• Ability to support surgical procedures and perioperative care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Abington Park Vets on a full‑time 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Part‑time applications will also be considered.

Abington Park Vets is a well‑equipped, modern veterinary hospital offering an exciting opportunity to work within a varied clinical environment. Based across our Moulton and Abington sites, this role sits within our surgical referral team, working closely with experienced surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Our practice is equipped with advanced facilities including CT, MRI, and a fully equipped in‑house laboratory supported by a dedicated lab technician. With a busy and varied caseload across first opinion and referral work, this is an ideal environment for nurses looking to develop and refine their skills across a range of clinical areas, while rotating between departments as required.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion and referral cases, rotating between departments as required.

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week
• 5‑day working week, with shifts between 7:30am and 7:00pm
• Saturday mornings worked on a rota basis, currently 1 in 8, subject to operational needs
• No out‑of‑hours or bank holiday requirements
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract

General Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion and referral caseload
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring, theatre nursing and scrubbing in
• Prepare surgical kits and maintain theatre sterility and equipment standards
• Provide excellent perioperative and inpatient care, ensuring patient safety and recovery
