Job summary

Zetland Vet Hospital in Redland, Bristol, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. The role covers nursing clinics, diagnostics, anaesthesia and inpatient care across Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites.

We offer 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, shifts 8am–8:30pm, with occasional Saturdays. You’ll be supported by a close-knit team, with clear career pathways and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience in clinical practice with core medical and surgical nursing responsibilities
  • Experience working sole charge when required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
  • Ability to travel between Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites

Responsibilities

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Zetland Vets on either a permanent or 12-month fixed-term basis.

You’ll be joining a small, friendly and close-knit team, working across our Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites. Our practices are well equipped with operating theatre facilities, dental X-ray and an in-house laboratory, providing a varied environment in which to use and develop your nursing skills.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care while supporting excellent experiences for our patients and clients.

You’ll work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

The role will be predominantly consult-based alongside your wider nursing responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to build strong client relationships while remaining involved in inpatient care, diagnostics, anaesthesia and surgical support.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days
  • Mix of shifts between 8:00am and 8:30pm
  • Based at Stoke Bishop
  • 8 Saturdays per year, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Permanent and 12-month fixed-term opportunities available
