Job summary

Linnaeus is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse for Gower Veterinary Surgery in Swansea. The role provides full-time hours (37.5 weekly) with Saturday rota shifts and a salary in the £26,000-£30,000 DOE range.

You will join a supportive nursing team and assist with a variety of clinical duties and inpatient care. RCVS registration is required, with a commitment to high standards of patient welfare, infection control, and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration is required.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Minimum 12 months experience post qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support veterinary surgeons with a wide range of procedures including surgical procedures, dentals, and diagnostic workups
• Carry out a range of nurse consultations and clinics
• Provide high-quality inpatient care, assisting with administration of medications and treatment prescribed
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records including anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms and clinical notes
• Ensure high standards of patient welfare and infection control; adhere to infection control protocols and equipment maintenance
• Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the practice by working with RVNs, PCAs, vets, and reception teams
• Maintain excellent client communication and service standards, supporting clients through admission to discharge

Job Type: Permanent (Full Time)

Salary: £26,000-£30,000 DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Saturday mornings on a rota basis (approx. 1 in 5, with time back in lieu)

At Gower Vets we are seeking an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive, close-knit nursing team of 5 RVNs and 3 PCAs.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Support veterinary surgeons with a wide range of procedures including surgical procedures, dentals, and diagnostic workups
• Carry out a range of nurse consultations and clinics
• Provide high-quality inpatient care, assisting with administration of medications and treatment prescribed
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records including anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms and clinical notes
• Ensure high standards of patient welfare and infection control; adhering to stringent infection control protocols and maintenance of equipment, reporting faults or damages
• Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the practice by working collaboratively with RVNs, PCAs, vets, and reception teams
• Maintain excellent client communication and service standards, supporting clients through their journey from admission to discharge
