Job description

Here at Bournemouth Vets for Pets, we are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team due to the relocation of one of our colleagues. We are ideally looking for someone wanting to work 35 hours per week but are open to negotiation for the right candidate.

Our practice is owned by Leanne and Tom Mowlem; Leanne is also our practice manager, and Tom is a vet who qualified from Bristol in 1995 and is a very experienced Practice Owner, having worked with the company since 1998. Tom and Leanne provide an incredibly supportive environment and encourage all colleagues to be the best they can be, with CPD actively encouraged and funded. They are very keen for everyone to find a personal role within the practice.

As we have been offering an excellent general practice service since 2000, we truly are thriving. We have a 3000 sq. ft, 2 story practice with 5 consult rooms (including a bereavement room), 2 operating theatres, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and full top of the range idexx suite. We have well over 6000 active small animal and exotic clients and are growing all the time. We work together to create a rewarding, productive and enjoyable work environment, offering the best possible care to the pets and owners who visit us.

We have a large team with a wide variety of interests and hobbies. Work is shared out equally and we try and maximise nurses’ skills to the full and embrace new ideas from team members. As a successful candidate, you will have good general veterinary nursing experience, excellent communication skills and be enthusiastic with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
