Job summary

Cygnet Newham House in Tees Valley is seeking a Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) to provide high-quality care for women with ABI in a 20-bed neuropsychiatric unit. You will work 42 hours per week at this site, delivering evidence-based care and contributing to a therapeutic environment.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining documentation, and supporting patients toward recovery, with a focus on safety and quality. Competitive hourly rate and benefits apply.

Responsibilities

• Produce outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
• Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality.
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing.
• Under NMC guidelines, ensure individual care plans are complete and maintained with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
• Administer medicines within 46healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

You’ll be working42hours a weekatCygnet Newham House. This is our 20-bed neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility providing rehabilitation for women affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI).

The hospital provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery alongside offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington’s Disease, a placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

The hospital is a modern, purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge as a result of their ABI.

Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment to engage the women in our care and offer them the opportunity to maximise their independence.

Your day-to-day…

An experienced RMN/RNLD with a current Pin Number, you’ll have…

Essential:

• The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits & demonstrate integrity in your role
• A good understanding of the latest nursing practices
• A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage & reduce risk
• Compassion, resilience & a dedication to empower & support service user independence

Desirable:

• The ability to deputise in a clinical lead role
