Job summary

Tuscan Surgery Center at Las Colinas, a joint venture between Baylor and USPI, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU. The RN provides continuity of care before and after anesthesia, assists physicians in the procedure room with tasks including conscious sedation, and ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the perioperative period.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS preferred.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for PreOp/PACU patients.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms, including conscious sedation as needed.
• Deliver post-anesthesia care and assess, plan, implement, and evaluate discharge needs.

Registered Nurse Preop/Pacu at Tuscan Surgery Center at Las Colinas:

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications
