Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Night-shift Registered Nurse to join Poets Mews Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare Group. The role involves acting as person in charge, supervising staff, and delivering comprehensive nursing care including medications, dressings, catheterisation and tube feeding.

You will work in a luxury elderly care setting with DBS checks and UK work eligibility verification. A minimum of two years' care experience and current NMC registration are required.

Job description

Night-shift Registered Nurse post at Poets Mews Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare Group, where the holder is person in charge and covers for the Manager when needed. Core work covers medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and long-term condition management, plus supervising care staff and updating families and GPs. The post sits in a luxury elderly care setting within a network of over 100 homes. Fit depends on current NMC registration and at least two years' experience.

What the job involves

• Act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager when required and acting on their behalf while ensuring high standards of care
• Undertake nursing tasks including medication distribution, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions
• Advise families of residents and GPs of changes in condition that cause concern, keeping them involved in choices for ongoing care
• Deploy and supervise care team staff so all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care
• Provide high standards of care through accurate assessment and care planning

Qualifications

• First Level qualification
• Relevant post-basic studies or qualification supporting up-to-date care knowledge

Registration & licences

• Current NMC registration
