Job summary

The Blackheath Hospital in London, part of Circle Health Group, is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join their Enhanced Care Unit. This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week with a salary of up to £40,000 per year, dependent on experience, training and qualifications.

Responsibilities include delivering direct nursing care, assessing patient needs, monitoring vital signs, administering medications safely, documenting care and upholding NMC standards and hospital policies; you will work

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Minimum of one year of experience in HDU/ICU or similar critical care setting.
• Experience in clinical healthcare environments.
• Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

• Identify and report incidents, safeguarding concerns and risks.

The Blackheath Hospital in London is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Enhanced Care Unit department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern and work flexibly across different departments as required, including the Surgical Ward, to support service needs and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Duties of this role include:

• Deliver direct nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols.
• Assess patient needs, prioritise care, and update care plans accordingly.
• Monitor vital signs, recognise changes in condition, and escalat appropriately using clinical judgement.
• Administer medications safely and effectively in accordance with hospital policies and the NMC Code.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and timely nursing documentation, including assessments, care plans, and observations.
• Ensure that all care provided complies with NMC standards, clinical governance requirements, and hospital policies.
• Identify and report incidents, safeguarding concerns, and potential risks in line with hospital procedures.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a High Dependency Unit (HDU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU/ITU)
• Demonstrable experience working in a clinical healthcare setting.
• Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in IT systems used for patient records, documentation, and care planning.
• Previous experience in a relevant specialty desirable (e.g., surgical, medical, outpatient, orthopaedics, critical care).
