Job description

Exciting Opportunity for Registered Nurses at Colchester Hospital

Join the team at the Collingwood Centre, Colchester Hospital. We are offering full and part-time positions in a nurse-led outpatient haemato-oncology service.

We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative Registered Nurses to work in a busy, fast-paced Chemotherapy Day Unit and Outreach clinics. Candidates should have recent post-registration experience and evidence of relevant post-registration study.

Experience in Oncology & Haematology is not required; however, a willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential. Training will be provided in-house, and there is an opportunity to complete the Guy’s Cancer Academy Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT) Online course.

If you are passionate about developing cancer services, we want to hear from you.

This role operates Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 18:00.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, safe, and cost-effective care to patients and families.
  2. Complete a recognised accredited Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy course (SACT).
  3. Complete the UKINS Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy passport.
  4. Assess patients pre-SACT, carry out toxicity screens, and ensure patient safety for treatment.
  5. Develop and enhance clinical skills across various areas, including rotation to the Mobile Cancer Unit.

We are ESNEFT, serving nearly one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex, providing hospital and community health services through various facilities and in patients’ homes.

We are one of the largest NHS organisations in England with over 12,000 staff. We support our staff with training, development opportunities, flexible working options, a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave (pro-rata), NHS discounts, and a Staff Wellbeing programme.

Our commitment to efficiency is reflected in our digital transformation partnership with Epic, bringing a leading electronic patient record system to improve care.

If you are passionate about patient care and eager to develop your skills, we want to hear from you.
