Experience & Requirements

Registered Nurse licensed within the state of employment, license must be in good standing.

Experience in providing services to a mentally ill and/or correctional population preferred.

Must follow all applicable technical instructions and health services bulletins.

CPR certification required.

A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Health RN at YesCare, your responsibilities include:

1. Providing 24-hour nursing coverage for the Mental Health Unit and ensuring appropriate clinical treatment.
2. Coordinating Mental Health Unit sick calls for nurse triage and referrals.
3. Implementing psychiatric and physician orders promptly and effectively.
4. Administering and monitoring medications according to policies.
5. Conducting initial nursing assessments upon inmate admission or as conditions permit.
6. Documenting changes in inmate functioning and critical incidents.
7. Completing discharge summaries upon inmate transfer from the Mental Health Unit.
8. Coordinating psychiatric services and informing psychiatrists of medication compliance and test results.
9. Providing group counseling and activities to ensure inmates receive adequate out-of-cell time.
10. Maintaining and updating Medication Administration Records (MARS).
11. Adhering to security regulations and confidentiality requirements.
12. Monitoring and managing medical supplies.
13. Collaborating effectively with health services staff, prison staff, and CMS administrative staff.
14. Complying with employee standards and maintaining a professional appearance and environment.
