Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm Registered Nurse to join the Bank team at Southampton Manor Care Home in Hampshire. You will act as person in charge when required, ensuring high standards of care for residents, and supporting the Manager in delivering Safe, compassionate care.

You will undertake nursing tasks including medication distribution, dressings, catheter care, tube feeding, and management of chronic conditions, while coordinating with families and GPs.

Qualifications

• Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years’ care experience with knowledge of care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care.
• Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

• Act as person in charge when required and observe instructions on behalf of the Manager.
• Undertake nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheter care, tube feeding and management of chronic conditions.
• Advise families and GPs of changes in condition and involve them in ongoing care decisions.
• Ensure effective supervision of staff and delivery of required care during duty periods.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst you ensure high standards of care to our residents.

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
• Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.
