Job summary

Avery Healthcare operates Poets Mews Care Home in Somerset and is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Registered Nurse on a Bank basis. You will act as person in charge in the absence of the Manager, ensuring high standards of care for residents and supporting the team.

Responsibilities include medication administration, dressings, catheterisation, and managing chronic conditions, with supervision of staff and involvement in care planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Demonstrate a minimum 2 years’ experience and up-to-date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
• Display good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
• Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition and keeping them informed.
• Supervision of staff within the care team to ensure tasks are completed and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care through accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as aRegistered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.
