Job summary

Avery Healthcare is recruiting a bank Registered Nurse for Elvy Court Care Home, a home for older people. The core of the work is acting as person in charge when the Manager is away, alongside hands-on nursing tasks.

Current NMC registration and at least two years’ experience are required, together with a DBS check. You will supervise care staff across each duty period and keep families and GPs informed of residents’ condition, supporting high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration.
• Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience.
• DBS disclosure check required.
• Proven ability to act as person in charge when Manager is away.

Responsibilities

• Act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and acting on their behalf
• Ensure high standards of care for residents
• Undertake nursing tasks including medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic conditions
• Advise families of residents and GPs of changes in condition and keep them involved in care choices
• Deploy and supervise care staff so that tasks are completed and residents receive required care during each duty period
• Provide high standards of care through accurate assessment and care planning
